Description
FUN Park Grants help small Arkansas communities develop public outdoor recreation facilities in local parks. The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism administers the program through its Outdoor Recreation Grants Program. Most types of outdoor recreation facilities are considered, including construction or installation of open-air facilities and renovation of existing outdoor recreation facilities.
The program supports defined local projects rather than general park operations. Awardees work with a licensed design professional and complete a project management workshop, Notice to Proceed, and contract agreement before spending grant funds on development. Design and administration costs are exempt from that pre-development spending rule.
