Description
Established in 2013, the American Philosophical Association’s Fund for Diversity and Inclusiveness supports efforts to make philosophy more diverse and inclusive, from the undergraduate major to the professoriate. It funds projects with a demonstrable impact on the representation of and climate for women, people of color, LGBT people, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups in philosophy.
This donor-supported micro-grant fund emphasizes seed funding for new and innovative initiatives. Pilot projects are strongly preferred over established work, particularly when they have local support, can serve as models for other institutions, and involve recipients willing to share information about their work. The fund is distinct from the APA’s separate Diversity and Inclusiveness Grant Program.
