    Description

ESCMID’s funded observerships support international training and collaboration in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. The programme connects eligible members with experts at more than 100 ESCMID Collaborative Centres (ECCs), where they can observe clinical and laboratory practice, exchange knowledge, and develop professional connections. Visits last from five days to one month and aim to improve practice in participants’ home institutions.

The programme is designed for Young Scientist Members and members from low- or lower-middle-income countries who fulfil Young Scientist Member criteria. Applicants should establish clear objectives and select a host whose expertise, resources, and opportunities match their professional development goals. Observerships may also support participants’ research interests and ongoing research projects.
