Description
The German Research Foundation (DFG) runs this programme to enable, improve, and further develop research data management. It supports academics and scientific information-infrastructure institutions in building technical and organisational structures tailored to the needs of scientific communities. Quality-assured research data is central to the programme’s goal of strengthening the infrastructure underpinning scientific discovery.
Proposals may address one or more of three focus areas: establishing or further developing research data infrastructures, designing and establishing organisational and responsibility structures, and conducting studies of research data management to improve infrastructures. Supported infrastructure work can include developing prototypes, turning prototypes into reliable services, expanding existing services’ functionality, and developing sustainable operating models. Studies must address infrastructure-related questions rather than basic research.
