Run by Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Fuse supports classical musicians who want to expand their artistic practice through collaborative play, interdisciplinary exploration, and creative risk-taking. The residency offers time and space to create, research, and develop new approaches to musical work, with goals of broadening artistic vision, building creative confidence, and advancing participants’ practice and careers.
Participants work with internationally recognized artists through small-group collaborations, faculty-led workshops, and one-on-one mentorship. Hands-on sessions explore performance technologies, storytelling, movement, and collaboration. Musicians have 24-hour studio access for individual and collaborative work, plus opportunities to share works in progress and creative processes with peers and the public. Concerts and program events offer engagement with other artistic disciplines.
