Description
This opportunity from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) via the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) supports transformative projects aimed at revolutionizing how researchers discover, access, and utilize social science data. The process begins with a mandatory four-day hybrid sandpit (October 2026), where approximately 40 selected participants will collaboratively develop proposals to enhance ESRC social science data service infrastructures. Projects must focus on improving user experience, interoperability, and workforce upskilling while leveraging technology (including AI and automation) to advance data pipelines. Only projects that enhance existing ESRC data service infrastructures are eligible; the creation of new infrastructures or duplication of existing services is not permitted.
