Description
The Future Forests Fellowship supports an incoming doctoral student in UBC’s Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship. Established by a private grant-making foundation, the fellowship aims to attract and retain world-class doctoral students who demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies. It is intended to cover expenses incurred in preparing and conducting research.
The recipient enrolls in the faculty’s PhD program at UBC’s Vancouver campus and conducts research focused in British Columbia. Eligible studies span forest products, biotechnology, energy, genomics, climate change, ecology, conservation, management, and relationships between forests and people. The fellowship is awarded on the recommendation of the Faculty of Forestry, in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
