The Future Forests Fellowship is a highly competitive award administered by the University of British Columbia’s Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, in partnership with the Faculty of Forestry. It is designed to attract and support an exceptional incoming PhD student whose research aligns with the Faculty’s areas of excellence, such as forest products biotechnology, climate change, forest genomics, urban forestry, conservation, forest management, salmon ecology, forest health, forests and Indigenous Peoples, and forests and human health. The fellowship is intended to cover all expenses related to the recipient’s doctoral research and living costs, enabling them to focus fully on advancing innovative research in forestry. Only one student holds the fellowship at any given time.
