Description
The Future Forests Fellowship supports an incoming PhD student in the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry. Established by a private grant-making foundation, it aims to attract and retain doctoral students who demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement. The fellowship is intended to cover expenses incurred in preparing and conducting research.
Intended studies must fit a Faculty of Forestry area of excellence. These span forest products biotechnology, bioenergy and genomics; climate change, urban forestry, management and conservation; and forested landscapes, salmon ecology and forest health. Research on forests and Indigenous peoples or forests and human health also falls within its scope.
