Description
This European Commission grant under Horizon Europe funds research and innovation actions aimed at "future-proofing" sustainable cultural tourism. The program targets projects that will enhance the sector’s resilience and sustainability in the face of technological, social, and environmental changes. Applicants must choose to focus on either:
- The integration of ethical AI and digital tools to improve cultural tourism experiences, governance, and strategic foresight, or
- The development of sustainable, community-centric tourism models for emerging and less-developed destinations.
Projects should deliver evidence-based policy recommendations, foster cross-border and cross-sector collaboration, and build frameworks that integrate cultural tourism with broader sustainability, digital transformation, and social inclusion goals. Co-creation with stakeholders, knowledge exchange, and translation of research into actionable strategies are central requirements.
