Description
The Future Works Grant is administered by Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor & Industry (L&I), through its Bureau of Workforce Development Administration. It supports early workforce interventions that help new or expanding businesses address skill gaps, recruit and retain workers, and establish foundations for long-term success. Projects connect workforce and economic development partners to deliver individualized services benefiting businesses, employees, and regional economies.
Funded work includes business assessments, customized workforce development plans, partner coordination, and connections to PA CareerLink and other workforce resources. Projects may also develop talent pipelines, provide workplace practice coaching, expand training, and support On-the-Job Training and Registered Apprenticeship pathways. The program targets agriculture, energy, life sciences, manufacturing, maritime/shipbuilding, and robotics and technology, using the industry definitions in Appendix H.
