    Description

The Foundation for Women's Cancer (FWC) offers this award in memory of Irina Rozentsveyg through its 2026–2027 Ovarian Cancer Grants category. It supports research improving outcomes for patients with advanced ovarian cancer complicated by malignant bowel obstruction. The priority is therapeutic, procedural, supportive-care, or multidisciplinary strategies that prevent or relieve obstruction and allow patients to receive or continue effective cancer-directed treatment.

Projects may use laboratory, computational, engineering, preclinical, or early translational approaches. Areas of interest include surgical and minimally invasive techniques; stents, devices, biomaterials, and drug-delivery systems; management of partial obstruction; preemptive prevention; and preservation of bowel function, nutrition, and quality of life. Biological research is encouraged when it could identify mechanisms or targets for prevention or management, including peritoneal disease, fibrosis, and intestinal dysfunction.
