    Description

The Austrian Science Fund (FWF), in cooperation with the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), funds closely integrated research collaborations between researchers in Austria and Israel. Open to all areas of scientific research, the program supports projects that combine the complementary expertise and strengths of both countries’ research systems. Both teams must make substantial scientific contributions, with their national project parts forming a shared research effort rather than independent projects that could be carried out and funded separately.

The cooperation is part of FWF’s Principal Investigator Projects International program. For the 2026 call, FWF acts as lead agency, handling submission, international peer review, and selection. Following ISF’s confirmation of the funding recommendation, each agency funds its respective national team.
