The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and the Polish National Science Centre (NCN) support cross-border research through the Weave network. The program is open to all disciplines and funds closely integrated projects in which researchers in Austria and Poland each make substantial scientific contributions. A third Weave partner country may participate. The collaboration must create added scientific value, rather than simply connect separate research activities.
Teams choose a lead agency to conduct a single review of the joint proposal. FWF-led applications follow the Principal Investigator Projects or Clinical Research program, while NCN-led applications follow NCN’s OPUS program. Each participating funding agency finances its own national or regional project component.
