Description
The Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program, administered by the Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), provides federal funds to state, local, territorial, and tribal governments to enhance all-hazards emergency preparedness. Authorized by Section 662 of the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act and the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, the EMPG aims to build and sustain a comprehensive emergency preparedness system. The program funds planning, training, exercises, equipment, and coordination activities that improve the protection of life and property from disasters in Alabama.
