Description
The Arizona Water Protection Fund (AWPF) is a competitive state grant program administered by the Arizona Water Protection Fund Commission, with staff support from the Arizona Department of Water Resources. It funds the development and implementation of measures to protect water of sufficient quality and quantity to maintain, enhance, and restore Arizona’s rivers, streams, and riparian habitat, including projects benefiting fish and wildlife that depend on those resources.
The Commission considers capital or other projects, water conservation projects, and research. Applicants describe their project’s purpose, location, scope of work, environmental contaminants, and any water used in project activities. The application also addresses permission to enter or use the project site.
