Description
The Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation and Division of Archaeology administer a competitive grant program using Historic Preservation Fund resources allocated by the National Park Service to the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office (LASHPO). Projects support state and federally mandated preservation programs and initiatives aligned with the statewide plan, Together for Louisiana 2026–2030.
The FY 2026–27 priority is Goal C.2: expanding public access to digital preservation information. Examples include digitizing records and photographs, creating websites, StoryMaps or online tours, and producing digitally accessible historic district guidelines. Other eligible work includes preservation planning, resource surveys, National Register nominations, HABS/HAER/HALS documentation, condition assessments, feasibility studies, education and training, and archaeological surveying, testing, planning and site documentation, including historic cemeteries.
