Description
This Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) from the National Weather Service (NWS), under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), solicits applications for special projects and programs that advance NOAA’s strategic plan and mission goals. The BAA is intended to encourage research, education, outreach, and innovative projects not addressed through NWS’s standard competitive programs. Each NOAA Line Office (e.g., National Weather Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, National Ocean Service, Office of Atmospheric Research, Office of Education, National Environmental Satellite Data Information Service) issues its own BAA, and applicants should submit to the office that best fits their proposal.
Projects must align with NOAA’s mission, which includes providing weather, water, and climate data, forecasts, and warnings; supporting marine and coastal ecosystem viability; advancing climate science; and promoting equity, workforce diversity, and organizational excellence.
