Description
The Arizona Department of Transportation’s Multimodal Planning Division administers this competitive Federal Transit Administration funding for statewide transit planning. The program supports planning for rural transit, regional transit, and small urban transit as part of regional planning. Funds are restricted to transit planning purposes.
ADOT prioritizes rural planning for existing transit agencies, followed by new rural transit plans, then regional and small urban transit planning. Communities without a current statewide transit planning grant receive priority. An MPO or COG may lead a project with local or regional public agencies, tribes, or transit operators; the lead organization administers any award through its work program.
