Description
HUD’s Community Compass Technical Assistance and Capacity Building program supports organizations providing technical assistance to HUD customers, including grantees, public housing authorities, and tribes. Managed by HUD’s Office of Technical Assistance (OTA), the program helps communities develop the knowledge, skills, tools, capacity, and systems needed to implement HUD programs and policies and sustain successful implementation over the long term.
Recipients develop training tools and products, assess audiences’ needs, design curricula, and work directly with communities to improve systems and processes. They also partner with HUD on urgent, high-priority projects and help identify needs and innovative approaches. The program brings together technical assistance investments across HUD offices, covering affordable housing, community development, disaster recovery, fair housing, homelessness assistance, public housing, and other HUD priorities.
