This grant provides supplemental funding to Massachusetts Head Start and Early Head Start programs to improve workforce recruitment, retention, and compensation, as well as to enhance the quality of services provided. Funds may be used to support staff salaries and benefits, hire coaches and mental health consultants, add teaching staff to achieve lower staff-to-child ratios, and provide transportation and language services for children and families in Emergency Assistance shelters. The grant also helps recipients meet their 20% non-Federal matching funds requirement.
