Description
The FY2027 Massachusetts Head Start State Supplemental Grant aims to strengthen workforce development and improve the quality of Head Start and Early Head Start programs across Massachusetts. Funding is targeted toward staff salaries, compensation, and benefits to address recruitment and retention challenges. The grant also supports comprehensive program services such as coaching, mental health consultation, and additional teaching staff to maintain low staff-to-child ratios. Additional eligible uses include transportation and interpretation/translation services for children and families in Emergency Assistance shelters, as well as assistance in meeting the required 20% non-Federal matching funds.
