Description
The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) administers this supplemental grant to strengthen the workforce and enhance program quality in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Funding supports staff salaries, compensation, and benefits to address recruitment and retention, alongside direct support for high-quality, comprehensive services for children and families.
Supported services may include coaches, mental health consultants, and additional teaching staff to lower staff-to-child ratios. Funds may also support transportation and interpretation or translation for children and families living in Massachusetts’ Emergency Assistance shelters. The program provides direct support to help Head Start and Early Head Start grantees meet their 20% non-Federal matching funds requirement.
