Description
This competitive grant program from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) aims to increase access to dual language bilingual education (DLBE) for English learners. Funding supports districts, charter schools, regional schools, and educational collaboratives in planning, launching, expanding, or sustaining DLBE programs and establishing or continuing multi-district "grow your own" bilingual educator hubs. The initiative is part of DESE’s broader vision to foster culturally and linguistically diverse educational environments and strengthen the pipeline of bilingual educators across Massachusetts. Grantees will participate in a Community of Practice and collaborate with educational institutions to develop sustainable, replicable models that benefit English learners.
