Description
This competitive grant, administered by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), aims to increase access to dual language bilingual education (DLBE) for English learners by supporting districts in launching, expanding, or sustaining DLBE programs. The program also funds the creation or continuation of "grow your own" bilingual education hubs to foster collaboration, strengthen the educator pipeline, and share effective models. Awardees participate in a Community of Practice to facilitate knowledge sharing and program development. The initiative is aligned with DESE’s vision of culturally and linguistically sustaining education for all students.
