Description
This competitive grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) provides supplementary support for college, career, and civic readiness. Administered by the Office for College, Career and Technical Education, it offers three options: MyCAP planning and early whole-school implementation in high schools, career-connected learning in middle schools, and systems that expand secondary students’ access to work-based learning.
MyCAP connects personal, social, and mental health development with career development and academic and future planning. Middle school activities integrate academic learning, personal development, and career exploration through real-world experiences. Work-based learning funding supports MEFA Pathway as the statewide database and student portal, aligns work-based learning plans with MyCAP, and connects schools with Workforce Boards, Connecting Activities, and YouthWorks. Applicants may pursue multiple options but should demonstrate alignment and integration across their proposed activities.
