Description
This grant provides supplemental federal funding to eligible Massachusetts school districts and consortia to support English learners (ELs) and immigrant children and youth. The program aims to help these students attain English proficiency and high academic standards by supporting effective language instruction, professional development for educators, and activities that foster family and community engagement. Funds are administered by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) under Title III, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
