Description
The Rural and Low-Income School Program (Title V, Part B, Subpart 2) under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) provides federal formula funding to support the unique needs of rural, low-income school districts in Massachusetts. The program is designed to address challenges such as limited personnel and resources, and small formula allocations. Funds are used to support evidence-based activities aligned with district and state standards, with a focus on improving student achievement, learning environments, and educator effectiveness. Supported activities may include enhancing basic academic programs, professional development, language instruction for English learners, student support and academic enrichment, and family engagement.
