Description
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office for College, Career and Technical Education administers this competitive grant as Option 3 of its MyCAP, Middle School Career Connected Learning, and High School Work-based Learning funding opportunity. Fund Code 0413 supports schools in building systems and aligning resources to expand secondary students’ access to work-based learning and strengthen college, career, and civic readiness.
Participating schools develop models and resources for using MEFA Pathway as the statewide portal for Work-based Learning Plans and data collection, including Perkins V, Connecting Activities, and YouthWorks. The work connects these plans to MyCAP, explores integration of YouthWorks and Connecting Activities planning and reporting tools, and recommends alignment between DESE’s career development model and YouthWorks employment engagement standards. Schools collaborate in a community of practice with their Workforce Board, MEFA Pathway, CommCorp, and DESE teams.
