    Description

This grant supports the implementation and evaluation of workplace education programs for adult incumbent workers in Massachusetts. Funding is provided for partnerships among education providers, business partners, and unions (where applicable) to deliver adult basic education (ABE) and/or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services directly in the workplace. The initiative emphasizes sustained collaboration among stakeholders, contextualized curriculum development, and strategies to maximize participation and retention, including release time, stipends, and remote or asynchronous learning.

Programs must maintain an active Planning and Evaluation Team (PET) representing all partners, implement required assessments, and manage student data in the statewide LACES system. The grant aims to foster strong partnerships, improve adult education outcomes, and align services with workforce needs.
