Description
The Title II Formula Grants Program is administered by the Mississippi Division of Public Safety Planning’s Office of Justice Programs under the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act. It supports efforts to prevent juvenile delinquency, improve Mississippi’s juvenile justice system, and provide effective services and alternatives for youth involved in or at risk of involvement with that system.
Targeted work includes juvenile diversion and alternatives to detention, mental health services, positive youth development, mentoring, and Native American Tribe programs. Broader supported areas include compliance monitoring, reducing racial and ethnic disparities, education and training, treatment, rehabilitation, and system improvements. Projects must connect their activities to documented local needs and explain how they will improve youth outcomes.
