Description
This opportunity from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) funds programs and activities that advance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and workforce development. The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) supports both formal and informal education focused on physical and natural sciences, technology, engineering, social sciences, mathematics, and related topics, including environmental science education and stewardship.
Eligible activities may include:
- Developing learners’ knowledge, skills, or interest in STEM
- Attracting students to pursue STEM certifications, licenses, or degrees (from two-year to postdoctoral)
- Providing research or growth opportunities for post-secondary, college, and graduate students (e.g., research experiences)
- Improving the quality of STEM mentors/educators (K-12 pre-service or in-service, post-secondary, and informal)
- Expanding institutional capacity to promote or foster STEM fields
Projects can be targeted at a range of educational levels and may address workforce development, educator training, or institutional improvements in STEM.
