Description
This program provides competitive grants to eligible government entities to facilitate the adoption and integration of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS, or drones) for the inspection, operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of critical infrastructure. The program aims to accelerate the use of drone technologies to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance worker safety in infrastructure projects. Funded activities may include purchasing, leasing, or upgrading drone systems, contracting for specialized services, and supporting program management. Projects that demonstrate innovative drone inspection technologies, improve data management/interoperability, and address safety risks—especially in multi-jurisdictional or diverse communities—are prioritized.
