Description
The Nevada Arts Council’s FY27 Folklife Artist Grant supports traditional arts projects led by individual folk artists and culture bearers. Projects must focus on transmitting folk arts or traditions practiced, valued, and shared within culturally specific communities in Nevada. Learning-focused work may include apprenticeships, mentorships, group learning, or cultural reclamation; presentation-focused work may include exhibitions, performances, readings, concerts, or festivals.
The program supports the artists who carry these practices forward and the costs of teaching or presenting their work. In reviewing projects, the council considers the artistic excellence of participating folk artists and the project’s artistic merit in relation to the cultural community represented.
