Description
Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Office of Grants Management (OGM) administer the Lighthouse Grant Program. It supports one umbrella organization leading community-based partners to serve socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals and families facing immigration-status-related challenges. The lead may serve solely as grant administrator or also provide services, and must equitably distribute funding through formalized partnerships.
The initiative combines centralized intake, needs assessment, navigation, emergency assistance, intensive case management, and immigration legal services to advance stabilization, integration, and self-sufficiency. Services must include family preparedness planning for immigration-related disruptions, fraud prevention, and safeguards against notario exploitation. Coalition leadership, partner capacity building, culturally responsive outreach, and a community advisory board are central components.
