    Description

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administers the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to help public water systems provide safe and adequate drinking water. The FY2028 opportunity supports drinking water projects involving planning, design, and construction, including loans to finance a planning document and environmental determination. It is part of DEQ’s administration of federal and state funding to improve Idaho’s water resources.

DEQ places projects on priority lists through an annual process and awards limited loan funds based on priority ratings and readiness to proceed. Ratings consider public health hazards, existing facility conditions, sustainability, compliance issues, operational practices, and affordability. This is drinking water infrastructure assistance; the separate Drinking Water Planning Grant has its own application and terms.
