Description
The Gabor A. Somorjai Award for Creative Research in Catalysis is an American Chemical Society (ACS) National Award recognizing outstanding research achievements in catalysis. Its scope includes theoretical, experimental, and developmental work that advances either understanding of catalysis or its application. Outstanding contributions from any discipline are considered, with creative approaches and scientific impact central to the selection rubric.
Established by the ACS Board of Directors in 2002, the award is supported by the Gabor A. and Judith K. Somorjai Endowment Fund. It recognizes research accomplishments through a cash award, certificate, and reimbursement for travel to the meeting where the award is presented.
