The Gail E. Butterfield Nutrition Travel Award provides support for doctoral students to present their nutrition research at the ACSM Annual Meeting. Established in memory of Dr. Gail E. Butterfield—an influential ACSM member and advocate for nutrition research—this award assists one US-based and one international doctoral student annually with travel expenses. The program aims to encourage research in protein metabolism, nutrition, energy balance, exercise interventions to improve metabolic health, and nutrition and the female athlete.
