--- ## Description The Gail E. Butterfield Nutrition Travel Award honors the legacy of Dr. Butterfield by providing financial support to doctoral students presenting nutrition-focused research at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meeting. The award is intended to assist with travel expenses and is open to one US resident and one non-US resident doctoral student each year. The award specifically encourages research in areas such as protein metabolism, altitude and nutrition, energy balance, nutrition and exercise interventions to improve metabolic health, and nutrition and the female athlete. --- ## Due Dates - March 13, 2026: Submission deadline for the Gail E. Butterfield Nutrition Travel Award --- ## Funding Amount - $800 per award - Two awards given annually (one to a US resident, one to a non-US resident doctoral student) --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be ACSM national members in good standing (chapter membership alone does not qualify). - Open to doctoral students enrolled full-time and conducting research in human subjects in relevant nutrition fields. - Applicant must be the presenter of an abstract accepted at the ACSM Annual Meeting. - Previous recipients of the Gail E.
