The Gaming Mitigation Fund is a grant program administered by the Mass Cultural Council, designed to help Massachusetts nonprofit and municipal performing arts centers that have been most directly impacted by the operation of resort-style casinos. The fund provides financial support to offset costs related to presenting touring shows and paying touring artists, aiming to ensure these venues remain competitive and continue to offer high-quality performances. Grants are awarded for a two-year period, with amounts determined by a formula that considers the percentage of eligible performances and the total fees paid to touring entities.
