Summary: Provides pharmacy students with hands-on, faculty-mentored research experience to enhance clinical and research skills.
The Gateway to Research Award is designed to support pharmacy students enrolled in ACPE-accredited Schools of Pharmacy by offering a unique opportunity to participate in faculty-mentored research projects. The program aims to deepen students’ understanding of the research process, enhance clinical skills, and encourage further education in research, such as pursuing a Ph.D. Through this award, students gain experience in identifying research problems, generating hypotheses, analyzing and interpreting data, and communicating scientific findings. The award fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to better prepare students for evolving roles in healthcare.
An additional Gateway award is offered annually to a student who self-identifies as coming from a historically underrepresented racial minority in pharmacy.
