The Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) funds research and program design for a sustainable model that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families navigate services and supports. The project advances State Plan Goal 3: Information, supporting accessible information, inclusion, independence, and self-determination for Georgians with IDD.
The work combines a literature review, environmental scan and gap analysis, program inventory, and consultations with people with IDD, families, and stakeholders. The final design must connect individuals and families with knowledgeable people providing individualized navigation assistance. It must address implementation, roles, measurable outcomes, evaluation, costs, resources, sustainability, and future replication or scaling. Accessible participation, culturally and linguistically diverse input, and lived experience must inform the design.
