Description
The Victoria S. and Bradley L. Geist Foundation’s Enhancements for Foster Children program, administered through Hawai‘i Community Foundation, funds organizations to purchase items and services for eligible children in Hawai‘i. The program seeks to give foster children opportunities to enjoy a quality of life similar to their peers, reflecting the belief that every child is special and their growth should be nurtured and celebrated.
Support covers extracurricular activities, hobbies, sports and cultural activities, intersession programs, transition-to-adulthood assistance, and modest quality-of-life enhancements. Examples include prom attire, athletic uniforms, hula lessons, summer camp, driver’s education, books, toys, and birthday or holiday gifts. Funding responds to specific requests for individual children rather than covering basic living expenses.
