Description
This grant supplements the National Institute on Aging (NIA) GEMSSTAR R03 award for early career anesthesiology physician-investigators. While the NIA GEMSSTAR program provides two years of research project funding, the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) GEMSSTAR Grant specifically supports the Professional Development Plan (PDP) required by the NIA application. The PDP is designed to advance the awardee's education in research methods, skills, and career development activities relevant to aging and geriatrics within anesthesiology. By providing resources for the PDP, FAER helps bridge the gap in career development support, ensuring that promising researchers are well-positioned to become leaders in aging-focused research in anesthesiology.
