Description
Administered by ARVO and the ARVO Foundation, this award supports early-career investigators who have received their initial faculty appointment and are establishing an independent vision research program. It funds well-conceived, novel and innovative projects in any area of vision science. The goal is to generate promising preliminary results that can help investigators secure longer-term funding and produce impactful scientific publications.
The award combines research support with career-development mentorship. Recipients must have strong scientific mentorship at their home institution. ARVO also matches each recipient with a senior eye and vision researcher outside that institution, selected from ARVO’s membership to support career advancement. ARVO and the ARVO Foundation independently oversee review and selection, without Genentech’s participation.
