Description
The General Inquiry process offered by the Humboldt Area Foundation is a flexible intake and referral pathway for organizations whose funding needs do not align with existing competitive grant opportunities. By submitting a General Inquiry, organizations can describe their project, funding requirements, and the populations they serve. Foundation staff review these submissions to determine if there are internal resources, donor-advised funds, affiliate programs, or external opportunities that may be a fit. This process is especially relevant for groups serving Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity, and Curry counties (CA), Curry County (OR), and adjoining Tribal lands, with a focus on projects that align with the foundation’s priorities: racial equity, just economic development, healthy environments, and thriving communities. Importantly, this process does not guarantee funding and is not a competitive grant round; outcomes may include referrals, guidance, or consideration for support if resources become available.
