Description
The Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) funds General Research Grants for qualified investigators whose projects align with its research priorities. The program supports Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) research across basic research, drug development, and clinical research. FARA accepts Letters of Intent (LOIs) in two annual rounds and particularly encourages junior investigators to submit them.
FARA aims to accelerate research toward treatments and a cure for FA. Its funded work has helped develop research resources including animal and cell models, biomarkers, and clinical endpoints; FARA seeks to make such resources accessible and promote collaboration among FA investigators.
