Description
Publishing Aid is part of the Gerda Henkel Foundation’s General Research Funding Programme. It supports the publication of especially successful projects that the Foundation already funds, rather than financing new research. Researchers may request a printing subsidy for a monograph or edited volume, or funding for Open Access publication of these book-length works.
The programme focuses on the historical humanities: Archaeology, History, Historical Islamic Studies, Art History, History of Law, Prehistory and Early History, and History of Science. Work in neighbouring disciplines may qualify when its core research question is historically oriented. Publishing aid is selective: the available budget is extremely limited, and not all eligible projects receive support.
