--- ## Description This grant supports members of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) who wish to undertake research or service development projects focused on the application of genomics in haematology. The grant aims to advance the use of genomics in clinical or laboratory haematology by funding innovative projects, including those that facilitate service development or generate preliminary research data. Successful applicants are expected to provide a project report within two years, and their work may be featured by the Society. --- ## Due Dates - December 1, 2026: Full application deadline (Genomics Grant) Outcome notifications are typically provided within 16–20 weeks after the deadline. --- ## Funding Amount - Up to five grants are available, each offering up to £10,000. - Funding is intended to cover direct project costs (e.g., consumables) for up to two years. - Funds are paid to the host institution, not to individuals. --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be current members of the [British Society for Haematology](https://b-s-h.org.uk/membership). - Projects must be undertaken at a UK institution. - Appropriate ethical and/or institutional review board approvals must be in place before funds are transferred. - Applicants must submit a project plan, detailed budget, CV, previous relevant research, and a letter of support from the Head of Service/Supervisor. - Only one application per member per grant cycle is permitted. --- ## Application Process - Applications are submitted via the [BSH Genomics Grant page](https://b-s-h.org.uk/grants/genomics-grant). - You must log in as a BSH member to access the application form. - Required documents: - Project plan (including timeline and dissemination plan) - Detailed budget - Previous relevant research - Short CV - Letter of support from Head of Service/Supervisor - All applications are reviewed by the Laboratory Special Interest Group and require final approval by the Research and Grants Committee. - Candidates may be asked for additional information or to attend a short online interview. - Membership applications for those outside the UK may take up to six weeks to process; UK-based applicants can expect approval within three working days. --- ## Additional Information - A project report must be submitted within two years of receiving the award, including details of follow-on funding. - Recipients are expected to submit an abstract to the BSH Annual Scientific Meeting.
