Key Information: Applicants must be participating partners of the Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit.

    Description

The U.S. Geological Survey’s National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Center offers this competitive cooperative agreement to a Californian Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) partner. The project integrates local and regional data, expertise, and management needs to produce national information on invasive species distributions, impacts, and management effectiveness. Its objectives are to facilitate invasive species research synthesis, develop a toolbox for rapid and efficient synthesis, and develop a model for manager-relevant syntheses.

The work will leverage the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) and more than 20 invasive species experts through CASC CAP postdoctoral research. Resulting datasets, analyses, and summaries will support risk assessment, prioritization, and adaptation planning. NCEAS will also convene workshops to integrate fisheries management databases, improve their long-term operability and interoperability, and identify analytical and informatics applications for fisheries conservation and management.
