    Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) offers this cooperative agreement to a Chesapeake Watershed Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) partner to quantify the current status and trends of North American amphibian populations and the outcomes of management interventions. Research will be conducted with the USGS Eastern Ecological Research Center and the USGS Amphibian Research and Monitoring Initiative.

The work focuses on model development and data analysis for an ongoing national amphibian disease study, prototyping dynamic integrated distribution models, and developing decision tools for an endangered amphibian on Department of the Interior (DOI) lands. Broader program objectives include management tools for amphibian populations on DOI and other protected lands. USGS anticipates a close research partnership with substantial federal involvement and a recipient experienced in integrating datasets and producing peer-reviewed manuscripts.
