    Description

The Georgia CTSA K12 Scholars Program, formerly KL2, supports early-career faculty at Emory University, Morehouse School of Medicine, Georgia Tech, and the University of Georgia. It combines protected research time, mentored research, and personalized career development to prepare independent clinical and translational scientists and leaders of multidisciplinary research teams.

Scholars develop investigator-initiated, hypothesis-driven projects with a human component, emphasizing the translational aspects of their work. Research is guided by an established investigator and mentoring team. Didactic pathways include the Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR), Certificate Program in Translational Science (CPTS), or selected coursework tailored to prior training. Leadership, mentorship, team science, scientific communication, journal clubs, colloquia, and seminars complement this training and support sustained engagement in clinical and translational science.
