Description
The IADR Geriatric Oral Research Group (GORG) offers awards to foster original research in geriatric oral health among students and investigators. The program includes the Jonathan Ship Award and the IADR GORG Pre-doctoral and Post-doctoral Awards, with the latter two supported by GC Corporation. Research priorities include basic mechanisms of aging, the occurrence of diseases or disorders in older people, and prevention and treatment of those conditions.
The awards recognize research presented through the GORG Awards Poster Competition at the IADR meeting. A judging panel appointed by the Awards Committee Chair evaluates the research question, originality, scientific design, methods, analysis, and conclusions using the submitted abstract, an extended abstract, and the applicant’s presentation.
