German-Israeli Project Cooperation (DIP) supports excellence in collaborative research across all fields of science and research. The German Research Foundation (DFG) holds scientific and administrative responsibility for the programme, with funding provided by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). Projects must be designed for close cooperation between Israeli and German partners, supported by a shared work plan covering both sides.
The programme prioritises research quality and the strength of scientific cooperation, including exchanges of scientists, particularly doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. Projects are planned over five years, with support for staff, materials, travel and specialised instrumentation. Proposals enter through an internal selection process at the participating Israeli institutions before DFG review in Germany.
