--- ## Description The Gilbert S. Omenn Fellowship is a two-year program designed for early-career physician-scientists who bridge biomedical research, public health, and clinical medicine. Fellows remain at their primary academic post while being assigned to a health- and medicine-related board of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM). The fellowship fosters integration of public health and medicine, both scientifically and through policy and practice, and aims to expand the nation's capacity for research, leadership, and policy development in health. Fellows participate in board meetings, contribute to study committees or roundtables, and are paired with a senior mentor from the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). The program includes a one-week orientation, attendance at the NAM Annual Meeting, and involvement in key initiatives of the assigned board.
