    Description

The Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association (GLATA) Research Assistance Committee administers grants to foster original scientific investigations by its members on topics relevant to athletic training. Separate master’s and doctoral awards support student-driven research, while the professional program supports certified professional members working as athletic training clinicians or educators. Interdisciplinary collaboration between athletic trainers and other health-care researchers is encouraged.

The pilot program supports investigators who need modest resources to test a research idea and demonstrate proof of concept. It focuses on purchasing small equipment or enrolling a small number of subjects for preliminary work. Pilot proposals are assessed for alignment with GLATA and committee priorities, the strength of their research rationale, and their potential to support future research funding.
